Karen Hennessey |
Karen
was born in Kent in 1954 to a farming family. Most of her formative
years were spent in West Sussex in the picturesque village of Itchenor,
where she was able to enjoy the much-loved countryside with the added
bonus of the sea close by. This coastal rural setting, much loved through
childhood, inspired Karen to paint the beautiful landscapes and seascapes,
which are a feature of her art work. A keen gardener, Karen has also
immortalised cottage garden flowers and plants in pastel and watercolour.
Well-known in the Chichester area Karen has some loyal followers and
has exhibited in sole and joint exhibitions.

Karen
has worked as resident artist for a publishing company; illustrating
texts and book-jackets. For a brief period Karen taught the skills of
her art to budding artists. More recently Karen has moved to Hampshire
where she continues to paint, extending her subjects to this new location,
whilst retaining her links with her original home. Last year her work
was successfully awarded a place in the International Artists Magazine.
