Carola Splettstoesser |
Carola
has been working with oils on canvas for over 30 years now and has held
exhibitions in Britain and in Germany, her native country.
Since she moved to Scotland in 1992 she has shown her work in Inverness, Forres, Elgin, Findhorn and Aberdeen. In her abstract art you will find a tendency to sculpt her shapes in a somewhat organic and sensual dance of forms that blend and contrast; colours and textures interplay and mingle or seem to overstep their boundaries. |

There
is a clear influence from childhood days: her father was an abstract
painter, her mother a sculptress. As a journalist in her former bread-winning
profession abstract art used to be a meditative way out of too much
verbalising.
Nowadays, though, abstraction sometimes leads her back into figurative expression. |
